Heart Disease, Avoid Vitamin B
Heart Disease, Avoid Vitamin B: Not all vitamins useful for maintaining health, why is this so? A study conducted in Sweden mentioned that consumed Vitamin B to prevent heart attacks and high blood pressure is not a good action and can even be dangerous.
Previously experts had argued vitamin B could reduce the elements of the blood called homocysteine vitamins, which have a linkage with the risk of heart attack. But this argument countered by a recent study that showed consumption of vitamin B there’s no point even though it could lower homocysteine.
This discovery is described in European Cardiology society meeting held in the Swedish capital, Stockholm which researchers from the Norwegian Vitamin Trial or NORVIT from the University of Troms Swedish study about 4749 patients with heart attacks.
All the patients were divided into four groups and each received a different treatment in addition to ordinary medical treatment while they live. The fourth group received vitamin B, vitamin B6, and combined the two vitamins, in addition to regular medicine for three years.
After three and a half years ago, a group of vitamin B and vitamin B6 groups dealing with a small increase in cardiovascular risk. But the group who consumed both vitamins increased the risk of heart attack and high blood pressure amounting to 20 per cent despite their homocysteine levels down to 30 percent.
Results showed 40 percent increase in risk in those who consume vitamin B, but the researchers stressed further investigations should still needed. Professor Kaare Harald Bønaa, author of the research report, said the results of the NORVIT important because high doses of vitamin B prescriptions from doctors could not prevent heart attacks and high blood.
